Beyoncé Knowles is to perform at this year’s MTV Europe Music Awards ceremony, it has been announced.
The R&B singer is the first artist to be named as a confirmed performer for the event, which takes place at Liverpool’s Echo Arena on November 6. Details of the other performing stars will be released within the next few weeks.
Knowles has appeared at the EMAs on two previous occasions. Most recently, she performed her hit song ‘Baby Boy’ at the 2003 ceremony, which was held in Edinburgh.
“We are extremely pleased that Beyoncé is returning to the MTV Europe Music Awards and will once again wow the audience with what promises to be a show-stopping performance,” said Richard Godfrey, the ceremony’s executive producer. “I am confident that when we reveal the final acts to perform, the bill will live up to our promise that the MTV Europe Music Awards will absolutely be the best gig in Europe this year.”
